We’re passionate about Reepham and are proud to put ourselves firmly behind the ‘Reepham Reaches Out’ campaign, which aims to make our town even better. What can you do to help?
In many ways Reepham is a great place to live, go to school and work, but some things could be improved. This was the conclusion of the ‘Reepham Reaches Out’ event, organised by Broadland Health and Wellbeing Partnership last Autumn. Residents and local groups/organisations were invited to share how they felt about living in Reepham and put forward ideas about things that could be improved.
Lots of ideas for enhancing life in Reepham emerged, some of which have the potential to be developed relatively quickly, while others will take more time. Here are the key projects discussed, but we would also love to hear any other project suggestions.
Project 1 – Communication and Information Sharing
Develop an online ‘What’s on in Reepham’ to bring everything that’s going on into one place. Information on both regular activities, one-off events, clubs/societies and local services such as health, housing, education etc would be easily available.
Project 2 – Volunteering and Community Roles
Encourage more people to get involved in the various voluntary roles in Reepham and see how rewarding it can be. Without more volunteers, it will become increasingly difficult to continue with many of Reepham’s existing regular and annual activities, including all the festivals we are fortunate enough to have.
Project 3 – Children and Young People
Providing more activities for young people of school and college age, including enhancing provision at Stimpson’s Piece and the Bircham Centre.
Project 4 -Transport and Accessibility
Improving transport to and from Reepham, including supporting the continuation of the Reepham Rover.
Can you help to make any of these projects happen?
Broadland Health and Wellbeing Partnership has agreed to continue to support developing potential projects, and to bring in relevant partners from across the local authority. But it is largely down to US to make things happen. This is where YOU come in! Which of these project ideas resonates with you? What can you contribute in the way of enthusiasm, skills, contacts etc. Two people have already volunteered to be the leads on Projects 1 and 2, but they need more volunteers to build a team to take the projects forward.
We are also looking for leads and team volunteers for Projects 3 & 4. Without more help, none of these projects can be delivered to make a difference to living in Reepham.
Who to contact
If you can help with any of these projects, in whatever way, please contact either Clare Kenvyn clarekenvyn@gmail.com or Tina Pashley cyorkeedgell@outlook.com
Let them know which project you are interested in and what your contribution could be, so they can connect people. We look forward to hearing from you!
