A Delight for All Seasons

The lovely walled garden beside the Bircham Centre is open almost every day for you to visit, relax or get involved. You can find us via the green gate in Pudding Pie Alley, between the Centre and the King’s Arms.

We have beautifully maintained flower borders chock full of seasonal colour as well as our allotment where we grow a range of vegetables, herbs and fruit.

The History of our Garden

We’re so proud to have a real Victorian Walled Garden, which has seen many changes over the years.

In the First World War, it was used as somewhere for wounded soldiers to relax as they recovered from their injuries. Forty years later, during the Second World War, it was dug up to grow vegetables.

Get Involved

Eves Hill Veg Co support our garden by leading volunteer garden helper sessions every Friday morning between 10 am and 1 pm. All are welcome to help maintain and improve the garden, as well as perhaps learning some new gardening skills.
