We are delighted to announce that we have a new member of the team here at the Bircham Centre. Jess Bygrave has joined us as our Community Engagement Worker and she’ll be putting her time and skills into making sure that the Centre is meeting the needs of people in the Reepham area.
Chair of Trustees, Les West, said “We are delighted to welcome Jess as part of our team. We are looking forward to working with her to engage with the local community and develop the services we can provide at the Bircham Centre.”
The recruitment notice attracted a lot of attention and we were humbled by the response from so many people with so many different skills. It was a hugely difficult decision and we’d like to thank everyone who applied: it’s a shame we couldn’t have hired lots of you!
We’re hugely grateful to Norfolk Community Foundation for providing the funding for this role which is part of their countering loneliness and isolation programme.
Jess is Reepham born and bred; she has strong family ties to Reepham and knows the Bircham Centre well. She is approachable and friendly – she loves talking to people from all walks of life – so please pop in for a chat. She’ll be in the Bircham Centre Office on Mondays mornings and Fridays.
Jess’s role will involve her talking to individuals, groups and organisations in Reepham and the surrounding area to ensure that the Bircham Centre and its partners meet the needs of the community, with a special focus on those who are disadvantaged or isolated. She’ll be building relationships to help us grow and adapt, so that this special place can continue to serve the community well for many years to come.
